I did a ride yesterday finally on the trainer with the extender. Same behaviour as when the USB key is plugged directly into the laptop. I am not getting any drops. I did get one total freeze in the program the other day where the screen froze (the system was fine and I was able to access other apps on the laptop).

I will try the extension tomorrow when I do my next ride.

@mgfjd, I will try to acquire the USB extension and see if that makes a difference in either issue.
