Elite Direto X connection issues

Hi, I bought the unit from wiggle a couple of months ago and having been
having issues with it intermittently not connecting to Zwift or the Elite
app. I’ve got a pm on my bike so have been using that but given the unit
is new I would like it to work. Sometimes it appears in the Zwift menu
when I first switch things on, but then disappears. Sometimes not there at
all. If I unplugged the trainer and plug back in, it sometimes appears
again, but can then disappear again. As I said, I’ve been using the bikes
pm to get around this, and I’m using the trainer daily for my training
plan, so have been worried about making this contact as I can’t really be
without it, given the weather here in the uk. Any ideas how this might be
