Direto erg mode off?

Hello

Is it possible to switch the Direto erg mode off for certain sessions?
I'm using it with a Garmin 520 using training peaks sessions.

I have a training session that I am having difficulty completing due to the erg mode, with 10 second sprints every 1.50 seconds when the trainer goes back to the lower power level I loose the power and my cadence falls so low that the trainer becomes too hard to get back on top of the gear. If I could switch the erg off it might make it more manageable to complete.
