come posso fare a capire se è l 'ultimo modello ( dichiarato 2018 da molti siti che lo vendono )
oppure il primo/precedente?

dal seriale? da qualche caratteristica estetica?

What are the differences between those 2? I mean, operational differences..
Is it worth upgrading from the old one to the new model? or is it just esthetical
(Besides the new firmware ofcourse, because I believe the old one will get the upgrade soon...)

The two versions are identical.
The only modify we have done is, indeed, the enlargement of the hole over the flywheel.
It has been done only to ease the production, it doesn't affect the functionality of the trainer.

si legge in giro che il vecchio abbia un volano da 5.1 kg mentre il nuovo da 6.0 kg

Confermo che il Drivo è sempre stato prodotto con lo stesso volano da 6kg.
